About

I was born and raised at the foot of the San Gabriel mountains in sunny southern California. I got my BS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Berkeley in 2007 and am currently working on a Ph.D. in Computer Science from University of California San Diego. My research focuses on making distributed systems easier to build without compromising their performance.

I worked as an intern at Google in 2006 and 2007 and at Microsoft Research in Redmond in 2008.

When I’m not working, I’m listening to and making music or reading books.
