Booyah! My continued dominance of the ‘alex rasmussen’ Google search is assured!
So I received a cease-and-desist order from Jack Handey’s lawyer about a week and a half ago asking me to stop making Mr. Handey’s Deep Thoughts available for free. Not wanting to get sued, I immediately complied, and so eDeep is no more.
What impact has this had on alexras.info’s traffic? Let me show you my hits-per-day over time, courtesy of Google Analytics:

I think that sort of speaks for itself, don’t you?
“Hey, everything’s all loopy!” I hear the two of you who still read this saying.
I decided that I was sick of Dreamhost’s crap (more on that later) so I’m transferring to Hostgator. As such, things are likely to be somewhat … turbulent … for a while.
Update: Most of the blog should be working now. Looks like I picked the right time, because my Dreamhost server’s filer is dead … again …
I’ve uploaded a bunch of photos to Flickr this weekend, all of which are several years old. They used to be up back when I had a non-Flickr gallery running. They’re untagged and uncommented; that might get done eventually. For now, enjoy!
I’ve posted some old(ish) photos of my last day at Google. Enjoy! More updates coming later, I swear!
Since I can’t sleep, visit day pictures are now mostly commented. Now perhaps you’ll have a somewhat better idea of what all this stuff is. Some of the cruise pictures aren’t commented, mostly because I couldn’t think of anything descriptive enough. Definitely check out the notes on the front vending machine shot if you want to know what all that gadgetry on the front does (this will require going to the picture on Flickr, since apparently FAlbum doesn’t support Flickr notes).
Location information might not be accurate; students of these universities, feel free to correct me!
Pictures from my UW and UCSD visits are online in the Photos section.
I decided to bite the bullet and pay Flickr for convenience. This means I get the ability to upload high-resolution photos, which I’ve done here (limited to 1600 pixels; I’ll archive the originals sometime as well).
Anyway, enjoy!
I’ve posted the photos I took while at UCLA. Flickr is a little slow lately; I might host these locally at some point, but right now there isn’t time to set anything up. Anyway, you can find them under the Photos section.
Update: So, turns out my camera’s date was wrong … really wrong. I’ve updated the images on Flickr, so they’re accurate to the day (although as far as it’s concerned they were all taken at midnight … shh).
Hopefully this will get crossposted. If it doesn’t, I’m turning LJ integration back off again until I can fix the problem.
Update: Looks like it works. That was easier than expected.
I had to do a bit of fiddling with settings (and some disabling of disobediant plugins) to get WP 2.1 to work, but it looks as though it does. Let me know if anything is acting freaky.
